Thanks for the reply Larry. However, that's not exactly what I'm looking for. My overall point is this: I've heard numerous times that the response to God ordering the genocide of the Canaanites that he waited for them to get become "fully baked" in their sin. That means he new their acts would lead to their ultimate destruction, and he let it happen. So, it's not really a relieving response to hear or read he waited 400 years (or whatever) before ordering the Jews to kill them all. So, it just got me wondering, if that's the case, is there biblical proof he gave them plenty of chances to change. I admit that the absence of any such proof doesn't mean he didn't, but such an absence just adds one more missing piece to make it difficult for those struggling with this aspect of how God is described.

Does that make sense?
