Thanks for joining the conversation Joel. You’re absolutely correct in your assessment. But the problem I’m referring to is that comments like the one I reference indicate a lack of understanding the Biblical context. There’s a very specific reason Christians today don’t need to worry about wearing mixed clothing or stoning people who work on Sunday. If that’s you’re understanding of those parts of the Bible, then, as I alluded to earlier, you don’t understand that part of the Bible.

Now, to be fair, I don’t blame people who may think that. The Bible is very hard to understand and is not something that can be read in a vacuum. I say this all the time: people with way more letters after their name than I can’t all seem to agree on what the Bible means, so how can you expect “mere intellectual mortals” to.
