First off, if you actually read the bill, you would see that much of it affects instruction all the way through high school.

Second, whether or not someone identifies as trans at the age of 5–7 is not important. The issue is addressing a reality of our society and allowing a space for those realities to be discussed in our educational institutions. This bill puts a target on the back of teachers and administrators who might want to address that reality and offer humanity to a child or children, however young, who may have that identity recognition—either in themselves, or in the makeup of the families of their friends.

Lastly, I recommend doing some reading about how early children can identify as trans.
