CONFIDENCE VS ARROGANCE
I was thinking about our exchange and I had a revelation about the difference between confidence and arrogance. I hope this better explains why I made my comment. It really was not meant to insult you.

Confidence is an internal feeling that is attractive. People are drawn to somebody’s confidence, even if they disagree with that person’s belief. You never feel put upon by their confidence. Dan Foster is a good example. You have to have a certain level of confidence to blog publicly about the topics he blogs about. But look at how he exchanges with people who disagree with him. There is a sense of humility and graciousness.

I believe that arrogance is confidence that is projected on others. It feels determined to make the other person feel wrong in order to get a point across. Whereas confidence attracts, arrogance repels. There is no sense of humility, particularly on a topic like religion or philosophy where there is no scientific proof for anybody to stand on.

I have read a number of Dan Foster‘s responses to people who disagree with him and your response to people who disagree with you. He comes across as confident. You come across as arrogant. Again, I don’t say this to insult you. I hope it can serve as a genuine opportunity to perhaps reflect on how are you relate to people who disagree with you.
